Scope

GB/T 40474-2021 is the English-translated version of 银行业应用系统 代码与编码处置指南.

GB/T 40474-2021 gives guidance on how banking application systems should store, process and use codes and encodings, so that a later change to a code list or a coding rule does not force a large-scale rebuild.

Its introduction cites real cases, such as the marital status code moving from one to two digits and the resident identity card number growing from 15 to 18 characters.

It sets general principles and separate recommendations for newly introduced and existing codes and encodings, and an informative annex compares meaningful and non-meaningful coding.

It defines application system, code and encoding, and refers to GB/T 17710-2008 on check characters and ISO 17442-1:2020 on the legal entity identifier. It applies to building and upgrading banking application systems. It was issued on 20 July 2021 and has applied since 1 February 2022.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

Introduction

In the construction of the application system, the code and encoding of the data may be used on both the server and the client to avoid possible data Inconsistency, improve processing efficiency. Judging from the development history of these codes and codes, as business volume changes and management needs increase, it is very It is possible to change the value range of the code, and it is also possible to change the coding rules.

Since entering the 21st century, my country's marital status code has been adjusted from the one-digit number stipulated in GB/T 4766-1984 "Marital Status Code" To the 2 digits specified in GB/T 2261.2-2003, the number of the resident identity card is specified by GB 11643-1989 "Social Security Number" The 15-digit number of the system is upgraded to the 18-digit number and letters specified in GB 11643-1999.

The field length and type of the code were designed directly according to the effective standards at that time, so after the standard upgrade, it led to a large-scale system transformation.

Therefore, this document proposes guidelines for handling data codes and encodings in application systems, when the data exchanged between banking application systems When code and coding change, it can effectively reduce the impact on business goals.

1 Scope

This document provides suggestions for storing, processing, using codes and coding in banking application systems.

This document is applicable to the construction and transformation of banking application systems. It is used as a reference for connecting with the bank and generating information exchange system.

Note: This document does not involve the attributes of data codes and encodings.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Example: Code actually gives a rule, and each code is generated according to this rule; it is clear at most how many codes can exist, but a certain code Whether it exists is not clear and may change dynamically. The citizen identification number of GB 11643-1999 is an example of encoding, and the Unified Social Credit Code defined by GB 32100-2015 is also an example of coding.
