1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, reagents and materials, instruments, and samples for the determination of mesophase content by light reflection microanalysis. Take and prepare, analyze steps, report results, precision, etc.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Isotropic phase
Complex aromatic organic compounds composed of carbon and hydrogen are usually the main phase and the continuous phase. Isotropic phase is glassy at room temperature Glassy solid, inactive under polarized light, see Figure 1.
3.2 Mesophase
