Scope
GB/T 3836.23-2017 is the English-translated version of 爆炸性环境 第23部分:用于瓦斯和/或煤尘环境的I类EPL Ma级设备.
GB/T 3836.23-2017 is the Chinese standard "Explosive atmospheres - Part 23: Group I, category EPL Ma equipment intended to remain functional in atmospheres endangered by firedamp and/or coal dust".
Its scope clause reads: "Explosive environment" This section provides for the use of underground coal mines, as well as coal mine surface gas and/or coal dust environment type I EPLMa-class equipment design, structure, testing and marking requirements.
This section applies to the environmental conditions. Atmospheric pressure 80kPa ~ 110kPa, ambient temperature -20 °C ~ 60 °C, the standard oxygen in the air Content (volume ratio) .21%.
This section applies to coal mines, and coal mine surface gas and/or coal dust environment of all Class I EPLMa equipment Design, construction, testing and marking of gas and non-electrical equipment.
This section also applies if the transmission cables, pipes and optical fibers form part of a device that is intended for use in hazardous gas and/or dust atmospheres Some cables, pipes and fibers.
This section does not apply to mining cap lamp (GB 7957 otherwise provided). Note 1.
Since the energy required to ignite a dust cloud formed from pulverized coal and air is 600 times the energy required to ignite a gas/air mixture, this section assumes If the structure of intrinsically safe "ia" circuits is safe in explosive gas/air environments, then the circuit will operate in a pulverized coal/air explosive atmosphere Kind of safe.
Note 2. This section also gives guidance when designing equipment for use in explosive atmospheres other than those specified in 1.1 above. For this situation In the meantime, additional tests are recommended to enable manufacturers to specify the conditions under which these devices apply to these exceptions.
Note 3. When explosive gas atmospheres occur in coal mines or on the ground, the risk of ignition must be limited to a minimum. In hazardous gas and/or coal dust environments, In addition to Class I Ma Class equipment that workers must operate continuously, management may require the prohibition of certain Class Ma equipment. Its clauses include terms and definitions.

1.1
"Explosive environment" This section provides for the use of underground coal mines, as well as coal mine surface gas and/or coal dust environment type I
EPLMa-class equipment design, structure, testing and marking requirements.
This section applies to the environmental conditions. Atmospheric pressure 80kPa ~ 110kPa, ambient temperature -20 °C ~ 60 °C, the standard oxygen in the air
Content (volume ratio) .21%.
1.2
This section applies to coal mines, and coal mine surface gas and/or coal dust environment of all Class I EPLMa equipment
Design, construction, testing and marking of gas and non-electrical equipment.
1.3
This section also applies if the transmission cables, pipes and optical fibers form part of a device that is intended for use in hazardous gas and/or dust atmospheres
Some cables, pipes and fibers.
1.4
This section does not apply to mining cap lamp (GB 7957 otherwise provided).
Note 1. Since the energy required to ignite a dust cloud formed from pulverized coal and air is 600 times the energy required to ignite a gas/air mixture, this section assumes
If the structure of intrinsically safe "ia" circuits is safe in explosive gas/air environments, then the circuit will operate in a pulverized coal/air explosive atmosphere
Kind of safe.
Note 2. This section also gives guidance when designing equipment for use in explosive atmospheres other than those specified in 1.1 above. For this situation
In the meantime, additional tests are recommended to enable manufacturers to specify the conditions under which these devices apply to these exceptions.
Note 3. When explosive gas atmospheres occur in coal mines or on the ground, the risk of ignition must be limited to a minimum. In hazardous gas and/or coal dust environments,
In addition to Class I Ma Class equipment that workers must operate continuously, management may require the prohibition of certain Class Ma equipment.
