Scope

GB/T 37989-2019 is the English-translated version of 轻质硫铝酸盐水泥混凝土.

GB/T 37989-2019 fixes the classification and marking, raw materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging, labelling, transport and storage provisions for lightweight concrete made with sulphoaluminate cement, along with its terms and definitions.

Clause 1 applies it to such concrete used in projects for thermal and fire insulation of industrial and civil buildings, in prefabricated buildings, in foundation pit filling and in the loading of underground structures; the page records no exclusions.

Clause 3 defines the material as a lightweight concrete in which sulphoaluminate cement is the main cementing material, mixed with suitable admixtures, additives, lightweight aggregate or air bubbles and water, giving early strength, high strength and an apparent density of not more than 800 kg/m3, and it separately defines a lightweight aggregate variant made with one or more aggregates such as vitrified beads, expanded perlite, ceramsite and waste polyurethane, also at not more than 800 kg/m3.

Its contents list names clause 4 on classification and marking, clause 5 on raw materials, clause 6 on requirements, clause 7 on test methods, clause 8 on inspection rules and clause 9 on packaging and marking, transport and storage.

The normative references cover the constituent materials and their testing, among them GB 20472 for sulphoaluminate cement, GB/T 17431.1 for lightweight aggregate, GB/T 1596 for fly ash, GB/T 18046 for granulated blast furnace slag powder, GB/T 18736 for mineral admixtures, GB 8076 for concrete admixtures, JC/T 2199 and JG/T 266 for foam and foam concrete, JGJ 63 for mixing water, GB 8624 for the classification of combustion behaviour of building materials, and GB/T 5486, GB/T 10294, GB/T 10295 and GB/T 11969 for insulation and aerated concrete testing.

The standard was proposed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and is under the jurisdiction of the National Concrete Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC458), and its long drafting list is made up of building materials research institutes and construction and concrete enterprises.

It carries ICS code 91.100.30 and Chinese classification Q13, was issued on 30 August 2019 and has applied since 1 July 2020.
