Scope
GB/T 37590-2019 is the English-translated version of 腐蚀控制工程全生命周期 管理工作指南.
GB/T 37590-2019 lays down general management rules for the whole life cycle of corrosion control engineering, together with management work requirements, the management work outline, the implementation of management work, the analysis and improvement of the work programme, and the content and requirements of resource management.
Clause 1 states that the standard applies to management activities in all stages of the corrosion control engineering life cycle, and the page records no exclusions.
Clause 3 takes its terms and definitions from GB/T 33314-2016 and repeats several of them for convenience, defining corrosion control engineering life cycle, related elements, management work outline, activity and related party.
The life cycle is defined as the whole process a protected object passes through from initial design and development based on materials and protective measures to manufacturing, construction, inspection, evaluation, use, maintenance and decommissioning, while the related elements listed include targets, sources of corrosion, materials, technology, development, design, manufacturing, installation, handling, storage and transport, commissioning, acceptance, operation, test and inspection, maintenance, repair, life extension, scrapping, documents and records, resources and assessment.
The management work outline is described as the set of management tasks that guide the procedural documentation of management work, and an activity as the smallest work item identified during a project.
The two normative references are GB/T 33314-2016 on general requirements for the corrosion control engineering life cycle and GB/T 37183-2018 on risk assessment for it.
The standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and is under the jurisdiction of the National Anti-corrosion Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC381), and its drafting bodies are corrosion control research institutes, coating and anti-corrosion companies and industry associations.
It carries ICS code 03.100.99 and Chinese classification A01, was issued on 4 June 2019 and has applied since 1 May 2020.
