GB/T 37247-2018 is the English-translated version of 光催化材料及制品抗真菌性能测试方法及评价.
GB/T 37247-2018 is the Chinese national test method for checking whether a photocatalytic material or product stops fungi from growing when it is lit.
Fungal spores are inoculated on the photocatalytic sample and on a control, exposed to light, then washed off and grown on agar so that the surviving colonies can be counted; the difference gives the antifungal rate.
The standard defines photocatalyst, photocatalytic material, antifungal activity and antifungal rate, and covers the materials, instruments and equipment, test sample preparation, test procedure, calculation, antifungal performance evaluation and test report.
It applies to flat-surfaced products such as glass, ceramics, metals, plastics and coatings, and not to porous or fibrous materials and their products. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, materials, equipment, and test samples for the antifungal performance test methods of photocatalytic materials and products.
Tablet preparation, test procedures, calculations, antimicrobial performance evaluation, and test reports.
This standard is applicable to photocatalytic materials and products that produce antifungal properties under illumination, and requires the surface of the sample to be flat. Glass, ceramics, metals, plastics and coatings.
This standard does not apply to porous materials, fibrous materials and their products.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Photocatalyst
A substance that produces a catalytic effect when excited by a certain light source.
3.2 Photocatalytic material
A material that contains or uses a photocatalyst and has photocatalytic properties.
3.3 Antifungal performance
The ability to inhibit the germination of fungal spores and inactivate fungal spores is characterized by an antifungal rate.
3.4 Antifungal rate
In the photocatalytic antifungal test, the percentage of photocatalytic samples compared to the number of viable fungi of the control samples was reduced.
4 Principle
The photocatalytic material has the ability to inhibit the growth and reproduction of the fungus, and the fungus inoculated on the photocatalytic material loses its vitality under illumination conditions.
