Scope
GB/T 37198-2018 is the English-translated version of 抗冲击聚苯乙烯(PS-I)树脂.
GB/T 37198-2018 is the Chinese product standard for impact-resistant polystyrene (PS-I) resin. It covers two-phase polymer systems in which polystyrene, or a copolymer of styrene and alkyl-substituted styrene, forms the continuous phase and a butadiene rubber phase is dispersed through it; expandable polystyrene is excluded.
It sets out the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of the resin.
Grades are classified and named according to GB/T 18964.1-2008, with designations built from intended use, additives, colour, Vicat softening temperature, melt mass flow rate, notched impact strength and flexural modulus.
The referenced methods include tensile, bending and impact tests, residual styrene monomer and pellet appearance, and food-contact grades refer to GB 4806.6. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs and accompanying texts of impact-resistant polystyrene (PS-I) resins. Parts, packaging, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to polystyrene and/or alkyl substituted styrene and styrene copolymer as the continuous phase, butadiene rubber phase A two-phase polymer system of a dispersed phase consisting of an impact polystyrene resin. This standard does not apply to expandable polystyrene resins.

3 Classification and naming
Classification and naming of impact-resistant polystyrene resins are carried out in accordance with GB/T 18964.1-2008.
Example: An impact polystyrene (PS-I) resin, recommended for injection molding (M), light or climate stable (L), natural (N), Vicat softening temperature of 84 ° C (083), the melt mass flow rate is 14g/10min (12), the simply supported beam notched impact strength is 8kJ/m2 (07), and the flexural modulus is 2200MPa (23). Name it as follows. […]
