Scope
GB/T 37177-2018 is the English-translated version of 煤基混合戊烯.
GB/T 37177-2018 is the Chinese national product standard for coal-based mixed pentene, a mixture of pentenes produced from coal-based methanol and used as an organic chemical raw material.
The mixture mainly contains n-pentene, 3-methylbutene, 2-methyl-1-butene, trans- and cis-2-pentene, 2-methyl-2-butene and cyclopentene. The product is classified by total pentene content into No. 55, No. 50 and No. 45.
The standard also sets the technical requirements and test methods, drawing on methods for density, C2 to C5 hydrocarbons by gas chromatography and total sulfur in light hydrocarbons, together with sampling, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport, storage and safety requirements. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of coal-based mixed pentene, product classification, technical requirements and test methods, inspection rules and signs, packages Installation, transportation, storage and safety requirements.
This standard applies to mixed pentene produced from coal-based methanol.
Coal-based mixed pentene can be used as an organic chemical raw material.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Coal-based mixed pentene
A mixture of pentene produced from coal-based methanol, mainly including n-pentene, 3-methylbutene, 2-methyl-1-butene, trans-2-pentene, cis-2-pentene, 2-methyl-2-butene, cyclopentene, and the like.
