GB/T 37042-2018 is the Chinese national product standard for hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), the monomer made by phosgenation of hexamethylenediamine, with the molecular formula C8H12N2O2 and a relative molecular mass of 168.19.
It sets the technical requirements the product must meet, the test methods, the inspection rules, and the marking, packaging, transport and storage of the product.
The test methods draw on national rules for chemical sampling, standard titration solutions, liquid chromaticity, analytical laboratory water and the rounding of results.
A caution at the head of the document recalls that HDI is a toxic hazardous chemical that can irritate skin and eyes and cause allergy or asthma symptoms, so protective gloves, safety glasses and respiratory protection are required. 1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packages of hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). Loading, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to hexamethylene diisocyanate prepared by phosgenation of hexamethylenediamine.

Relative molecular mass. 168.19 (according to 2016 international relative atomic mass)
