Scope
GB/T 3688-2025 is the English-translated version of V带线绳粘合性能试验方法.
GB/T 3688-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering how firmly the cord is bonded to the rubber inside a V-belt — the pull-out method and the peeling method, the specimen holder and its preparation, the initial bond strength measured on a belt that has never run, and the dynamic bond strength measured after a fatigue run together with the ratio between the two, which is what says whether the bond survives service and not only the bench. It replaces GB/T 3688-1998, under the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. In force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025, replacing GB/T 3688-1998.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 3688-1998 "Test method for adhesion strength of V-belt cords". Compared with GB/T 3688-1998, except for the structural In addition to adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The scope has been changed and the stripping method has been added (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1998 edition);
b) Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);
c) The test principle has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the 1998 edition);
d) The size and structure of the test holder have been changed, and sample preparation tools have been added (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of the 1998 edition);
e) Added general test rules (see Chapter 6);
f) The test procedure was changed and fatigue test was added (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the 1998 edition);
g) The test data processing has been changed (see Chapter 8, Chapter 7 of the 1998 edition);
h) Added the dynamic fatigue test method for ordinary cloth straps (see Appendix A).

1 Scope
This document describes a test method for determining the adhesion between the cord and rubber in rubber V-belts using the extraction method and the peeling method, respectively.
This document is applicable to the determination of the adhesion between the cord and rubber in rubber V-belts and the determination of the adhesion between the cord and rubber in rubber multi-ribbed belts. Refer to the implementation.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 32110 and the following apply to this document.
3.1
The bonding strength of the bonding interface between the cord skeleton and the rubber of a non-fatigued rubber V-belt.
3.2
The bonding strength of the bonding interface between the cord skeleton and the rubber after the rubber V-belt has undergone dynamic fatigue operation.
3.3
The ratio of dynamic bond strength to initial bond strength.
4 Test Principle
The initial bonding strength and dynamic bonding strength between the cord and rubber in the V-belt were measured by the extraction method and the peeling method respectively, and the bonding strength was calculated.
