GB/T 36874-2018 is the English-translated version of 湿帘技术性能测试方法.
GB/T 36874-2018 gives the test methods for the technical performance of corrugated cooling pads, the wet curtains used for ventilation and cooling. It applies to corrugated cooling pad products made of fibrous materials for agricultural use.
The standard defines the terms the tests rely on: the specification parameters of the pad (width, height and thickness of its outer contour), the naturally dry state and the saturated wet state in which test pieces are conditioned, water absorption height, water absorption rate and wet inflation rate.
It refers to GB/T 1236-2017 for the standardized air duct performance testing of industrial fans and to the electronic universal testing machine. Test laboratories and pad manufacturers use it to measure and compare product performance. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for the technical performance of corrugated wet curtains for ventilation and cooling.
This standard applies to the technical performance parameter test of corrugated wet curtain products made of fibrous materials for agriculture.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Cooling pad
A corrugated ventilation and cooling product made of a hydrophilic and water-resistant fibrous material.
3.2 Cooling pad configuration
The width, height and thickness of the outer contour of the wet curtain.
3.3 Cooling pad under naturally dried state
The wet curtain is placed in an air temperature of 20 °C to 30 °C and a relative humidity of 30% to 60% for 24 hours or more.
3.4 Cooling pad under saturated state
The wet curtain is completely immersed in water at 15 °C ~ 25 °C for 30 min, taken out and placed at an air temperature of 20 °C ~ 30 °C, relative humidity of 30% ~ 60% of the state of draining for 5 minutes under windless conditions.
3.5 Water absorption height
After the wet curtain test piece in the natural dry state is immersed in water, the surface wetting boundary rises above the water surface within a predetermined time.
3.6 Water absorption rate
The rate of change of mass of the wet curtain test piece in a naturally dry state after immersion in a saturated wet state.
3.7 Wet inflation rate
The change rate of the specification parameters of the wet curtain test piece under natural dry state after immersion treatment to a saturated wet state.
