Scope
GB/T 36701-2018 is the English-translated version of 埋地钢质管道管体缺陷修复指南.
GB/T 36701-2018 is a Chinese national guide to repairing defects in the pipe body of buried steel pipelines. It sets out the repair methods and how to carry them out, from general requirements and data collection to common repair methods, the repair of typical defects, health, safety and environment, and quality acceptance.
Annexes deal with in-service welding on pipelines, composite reinforcement repair and the repair process for typical defects. It defines repair pressure and separates permanent repairs, which keep the pipeline reliable for its whole life, from temporary ones.
It applies to buried long-distance and gathering pipelines of grade L485/X70 and below, and other buried steel pipelines of those grades may follow it. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 March 2019.
