Scope
GB/T 36690-2018 is the English-translated version of 工业废液处理污泥中铜、镍、铅、锌、镉、铬等26种元素含量测定方法.
GB/T 36690-2018 gives methods for determining the total content of 26 elements, including copper, nickel, lead, zinc, cadmium and chromium, in sludge from the treatment of industrial waste liquid.
After sample preparation the elements are measured by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, with hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry for mercury, arsenic and selenium among others.
By plasma emission the range is 5 mg/kg to 10 000 mg/kg for fresh sludge and 50 mg/kg to 100 000 mg/kg for air-dried or dried samples, while mercury by atomic fluorescence has a detection limit of 0.004 mg/kg.
The sludge concerned is the precipitate formed when waste liquid is treated with a strong base or sodium sulfide. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of methods for determining the content of 26 elements such as copper, nickel, lead, zinc, cadmium and chromium in industrial waste liquid treatment sludge. General provisions, sample preparation and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry and hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry.
This standard applies to industrial waste liquid treatment sludge in silver (Ag), aluminum (Al), arsenic (As), gold (Au), barium (Ba), beryllium (Be), barium (Bi), calcium (Ca), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), mercury (Hg), manganese (Mn), molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni), palladium (Pd), lead (Pb), Determination of total content of 26 elements of antimony (Sb), selenium (Se), tin (Sn), antimony (Sr), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), and zinc (Zn).
Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry for the determination of concentration of fresh sludge samples without dilution of the sample solution The range is from 5mg/kg to 10000mg/kg; the suitable concentration range for air-dried or dried sludge samples is from 50mg/kg to 100000mg/kg.
The detection limits of each element in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry are shown in Appendix A.
The detection limit of mercury by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry is 0.004mg/kg, and the suitable concentration range is 0.016mg/kg~ 5mg/kg; the detection limit of arsenic, selenium, tellurium and strontium is 0.020mg/kg, and the suitable concentration range is 0.080mg/kg~50mg/kg.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Industrial waste treatment sludge
Industrial waste liquid (or wastewater) formed by precipitation with a strong base (sodium hydroxide, lime milk or sodium carbonate) or sodium sulfide contains water-insoluble and A relatively heterogeneous body of relatively stable metal compounds, organic waste, and the like.
Note: The water content of industrial waste liquid treated sludge after filtration is 60%~90%. Mainly including heavy metal-containing sludge produced by metal surface treatment and electronic production […]
