Scope
GB/T 36612-2018 is the English-translated version of 纺织纤维编码.
GB/T 36612-2018 sets up a coding system for textile fibres, made of a classification code, a name code and attribute codes, and explains how the codes are applied.
It is meant for managing information on textile fibre products through production, trade and circulation, and for information processing and exchange.
Classification follows the principles of GB/T 7027 and the line method: fibres are divided into four layers and represented by a 6-digit code, the first layer sorting them by how they are obtained and the second by their source, with composition, raw material characteristics or processing technology used to refine the layers.
Fibre names rest on the terminology of GB/T 3291.1, GB/T 4146.1 and GB/T 5705 to GB/T 5707. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the composition, classification code, name coding, attribute coding, and coding application of the textile fiber coding system.
This standard applies to the information management of various textile fiber products in the process of textile fiber production, trade, circulation, etc. Information processing and information exchange.

3.1 Textile fiber
Suitable for textile production and processing of fibers.
4 Composition of the coding system
The textile fiber coding system consists of textile fiber classification coding, name coding and attribute coding.
5 Classification code
5.1 Principles and methods of classification coding
5.1.1 Basic principle. The classification code of textile fiber should meet the requirements of GB/T 7027, satisfying scientific, systematic, extendable and compatible. Requirements.
5.1.2 Classification method The line classification method is adopted to carry out the textile fiber according to the acquisition method, source, composition, raw material characteristics or processing technology. Layer refinement.
5.1.3 Textile fiber classification code The textile fiber is divided into four layers and represented by a 6-digit code. The meaning of each layer is as follows.
a) The first layer distinguishes textile fibers according to the method of acquisition, and is represented by a one-digit code indicating a large category of textile fibers;
b) The second layer distinguishes textile fibers by source, expressed in a one-digit code, indicating the middle class of textile fibers;
