Scope

GB/T 36409-2018 is the English-translated version of 自升式平台结构设计方法 载荷抗力系数设计法.

GB/T 36409-2018 sets out the structural design of steel self-elevating units, or jack-ups, by the load and resistance factor design (LRFD) method. It covers structural classification into primary, secondary and special members, material selection, and design criteria with design conditions, environmental conditions and analysis methods.

It then deals with design loads, namely fixed, variable functional, environmental, deformation, accidental and fatigue loads and their combination. Checks are organised by limit state: ultimate limit state, fatigue limit state and accidental limit state, the last covering collision, falling objects, fire, explosion and accidental water.

Special considerations include pre-ballasting capacity, overturning stability and air gap. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the structure classification, material selection, and design criteria for self-elevating platform structure design based on the load resistance coefficient design method. Design load, final limit state, fatigue limit state, unexpected limit state, and special considerations.

This standard applies to the structural design of steel self-elevating platforms.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Self-elevating platform

A platform body with sufficient buoyancy is used to migrate to a predetermined job site and establish a foundation in a work mode by lowering the legs to A mobile platform that raises the main body to the desired height in order to achieve the operating mode.

3.2 Baseline

Pass a horizontal line on the top edge of the platform floor.

3.3 Primary member

Components that have an important role in the overall integrity of the platform structure.

3.4 Secondary member

Failures do not affect non-essential components of the overall structural integrity of the platform.

3.5 Special member

Main components at key load transfer points and stress concentrations.

3.6 In situation conditions

The platform lowers the legs and raises the main body.
