Scope

GB/T 36355-2018 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 固态盘测试方法.

GB/T 36355-2018 sets out test methods for solid state disks that use flash memory as the storage unit. It defines terms such as nominal capacity, with the decimal and binary units used to express it, available capacity and read and write rate, and it lays down the physical, hardware and software test environment.

Functional tests cover the interface protocol, available capacity, power failure data protection and operating system compatibility.

Performance tests measure read and write rate, response time, data transmission rate and performance stability, and two further tests check data conformance and data saving time, each with its own environment and method.

It applies to the testing of these drives. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for SSD performance, performance, and data consistency and data retention.

This standard applies to the testing of SSDs with flash memory as the storage unit.

2 Terms and Definitions, Abbreviations

2.1 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

2.1.1 Solid state disk

A storage device that reads and writes data using an electronic memory or a memory module as a main recording medium.

Note: The SSD of the SSD is often abbreviated as the SolidStateDrive internationally. SolidStateDrive and the SSD referred to in this standard To. Solid-state disks, also commonly referred to as electronic memory disks, are data storage devices that use flash memory as a storage unit, unlike traditional mechanical hard disks, and solid-state disks. There is no mechanical part and it is mainly composed of a controller and a storage unit. The SSD referred to in this standard is different from the mobile flash disk (using USB as the main interface The flash storage devices) usually use traditional mechanical hard disk interfaces such as SATA and SAS.

2.1.2 Nominal capacity

The stated capacity stated on the relevant description of the tested SSD.

Note: Use PB, TB, GB, MB, KB or PiB, TiB, GiB, MiB, KiB, where.

a) 1KB = 1000 (10^3) bytes;

b) 1MB = 1000000 (10^6) bytes;

c) 1GB = 1000000000 (10^9) bytes;

d) 1TB = 1000000000000 (10^12) bytes;

e) 1PB=1000000000000000 (10^15) bytes;

f) 1KiB=1024 (2^10) bytes;

g) 1 MiB = 1048576 (2^20) bytes;

h) 1GiB=1073741824 (2^30) bytes;

i) 1TiB=1099511627776 (2^40) bytes;

j) 1PiB=1125899906842624 (2^50) bytes.

2.1.3 Available capacity

Actually accessible storage capacity. The unit conversion is calculated in binary.

Note: The common conversion methods for different occasions are.

a) Commonly used binary conversion in operating system, the conversion relationship is 1TiB=1024GiB, 1GiB=1024MiB, 1MiB=1024KiB;

b) SSD manufacturer commercial decimal conversion, the conversion relationship is 1TB = 1000GB, 1GB = 1000MB, 1MB = 1000KB. Thus, in The display capacity seen in the firmware/BIOS, when formatting the hard disk, or in the file management system is smaller than the nominal capacity of the manufacturer.

2.1.4 Read and write rate

The number of reads and/or writes in unit time.

Note: Usually also called the number of input and output per second, that is, IOPS.
