Scope
GB/T 36331-2018 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 回鹘式蒙古文名义字符、变形显现字符和控制字符使用规则.
GB/T 36331-2018 deals with the Uigur-Mongolian script, the traditional vertical script of the Mongolian language, as it is handled in information technology. It sets the minimum set of presentation characters, that is the positional and contextual forms each nominal letter takes, and the rules for using the control characters that select them.
It lists the punctuation marks, letters, free variation selectors and vowel separator with their code positions in GB/T 13000 and their names, the isolated presentation forms, and the mandatory and non-mandatory ligatures.
Normative annexes give the rules by which presentation forms appear and the rules for using the variation selectors. It applies to the information processing of Uigur-Mongolian text. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard stipulates the minimum set of deformed characters in the retro-style Mongolian, and the deformation of each nominal character in the Mongolian-style Mongolian The current form of graphics and rules for controlling the use of characters.
This standard applies to retrospective Mongolian information processing.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Character
An element in a collection of elements for organizing, controlling, or representing data. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.6]
3.2 Coded character
Characters and their encoded representations. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.8]
3.3 Coded character set
A set of unambiguous rules used to establish a one-to-one correspondence between a character set and the characters of the character set and its encoded representation. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.9]
3.4 Code table
A table of characters assigned to each of the eight bits in the code is shown. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.10]
3.5 Control function
An action that affects the recording, processing, transmission, or interpretation of data, the coded representation of which consists of one or more eight bits. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.15]
3.6 Graphic character
Characters that differ from control functions typically have a visual representation of writing, printing, or display. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.20]
3.7 Graphic symbol
A visual representation of a graphic character or composite sequence. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.21]
3.8 Combination character
Used in combination with non-combined graphic characters with its predecessor, or with a combined character sequence that is preceded by non-combined characters. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.12]
3.9 Composite sequence
A sequence of graphic characters consisting of one non-combined character followed by one or more combined characters. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.14]
3.10 Presentation
The process of writing, printing, or displaying a graphical symbol. [GB/T 13000-2010, definition 4.31]
3.11 Nominal character
Nominal form
The main form of Mongolian letters. It is applicable to the written form of Mongolian and the representation, transmission, exchange, processing and storage of additional symbols. Storage, input and visualization.
3.12 Deformation manifest character
Deformation manifestation form
Each of the appearing characters of a letter is a nominal form of the letter or a sequence of characters of other graphical character regions in a particular context.
Use to provide an optional character that depends on the position of that character relative to other characters. Usually, the appearing characters are not used to replace this codeword.
The character set specifies the nominal character of the graphic character.
3.13 Mandatory fit word
When the Mongolian "round head" consonants and vowels are spelled, the original consonants and vowels are changed due to the need for continuous writing. A fit character that is merged into a glyph.
4 Overall structure
Each character in this coded character set is represented by a double octet sequence. An eight-digit person is composed of b8, b7, b6, b5, b4, b3, B2, b1 identifier, where b8 is the highest digit and b1 is the lowest digit. The rights assigned to each bit are shown in Table 1.
5 Characters and their encoding position
The coding architecture adopted in this standard is consistent with the coding architecture specified in GB/T 13000. This standard specifies the return type The punctuation marks, numbers, and control characters unique to the ancient text, and the coding positions of these characters in GB/T 13000 are given, and The modified Mongolian variant shows the rules for the use of characters and control characters.
This standard does not stipulate the coding position of the modified Mongolian variant deformation character, mandatory fit word and non-mandatory fit word.
See Figure 7 for the glyphs and names of the characters in the Mongolian-style isolated deformation. See Appendix A for the rules of use;
See Figure 8 for the glyphs and names of the fit characters; see Chapter 9 for the glyphs and their names for the non-mandatory fits in Mongolian.
6 Glyphs, encoding positions and their names of Mongolian nominal characters
The glyphs and encoding positions of the nominal characters used in the retro-style Mongolian are shown in Table 2.
The names of the returned Mongolian nominal characters are shown in Table 3.
The glyphs of the Mongolian nominal characters are also used to visualize the form. See Appendix A for the rules of use.
7 The glyphs and their names of the characters in the Mongolian variant
The glyphs of the isolated variants of the retrospective Mongolian are shown in Table 4, and the names are shown in Table 5.
This standard only lists the minimum set of characters in the Mongolian variant deformation, and the developer does not violate the GB/T 13000. Under the premise of the regulations, more than the isolated deformation appearing characters listed in Table 4 may be set, but all the isolated variants listed in this standard shall be included.
See Appendix A for the rules for using the modified Mongolian variant deformation characters.
8 The glyphs and their names of the Mongolian mandatory fit characters
The glyphs of the recalled Mongolian mandatory fit words are shown in Table 6, and the names are shown in Table 7.
This standard only lists the minimum set of mandatory Mongolian companion characters. The developer does not violate the relevant regulations of GB/T 13000. Under the premise, more mandatory fit words can be set, but all mandatory fit words listed in this standard should be included.
For the formation of mandatory coercive characters, the rules for the use of rehearsal Mongolian mandatory fit words are given in Appendix A. […]
