GB/T 36294-2018 is a guide to classifying the archives of pumped storage power generation companies.
It sets the basic principles and methods for sorting their records into ten categories, numbered 0 to 9: party and mass organisation work, administration, operation management, production technology management, finance and audit, personnel and labour, power production, science and technology research, capital construction, and equipment and instruments.
It defines terms such as archives, classification, archive number, category, retention period and project code, sets the rules for choosing categories so that the natural links between documents are kept, and gives the structure of the archive number.
Informative annexes list the classes for categories 0 to 9 and show sample codes for categories 8 and 9. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
The current standard stipulates the work of the party and the masses of pumped-storage power generation enterprises, administrative management, operation management, production technology management, financial audit, and personnel Fundamental principles and methods for the classification of capital, power production, scientific and technological research, basic construction, equipment and instrument files.
This standard applies to pumped-storage power generation enterprises.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1 Archives
The historical records of various forms that have been formed directly in social activities by state agencies, social organizations or individuals.
2.2 Classification
According to the file's source, formation time, content, form and other characteristics of the file entities are hierarchically divided.
2.3 Archive number
A set of code that is assigned to the file entity in a character form to fix and reflect the file arrangement order.
2.4 Category
Files that have common attributes in nature or features are the basic units for file classification.
Note: The category number represents the code at the file classification level.
2.5 Retention period
The period of time for the delineation of the archives is divided into permanent, regular 30 years and regular 10 years.
2.6 Project code
The word or code of products, topics, projects, equipment, etc.
3 Basic regulations
3.1 Category Classification Principle
Category classification should be combined with the specific conditions of pumped-storage power generation enterprises, according to the natural formation rules of documents, and maintain the organic links between documents. 3.2 Category settings
3.2.1 The category settings are divided into 10 categories.
