Scope

GB/T 35897-2018 is the English-translated version of 条斑紫菜 半浮动筏式栽培技术规范.

GB/T 35897-2018 sets out how to cultivate the red seaweed Pyropia yezoensis on semi-floating rafts, where the nets hang horizontally in a frame of piles, poles and short legs: at high tide the nets float, and at low tide the legs rest on the mudflat so the nets dry out of the water.

It covers the choice of sea area, the cultivation facilities, cultivation management and harvesting. For the site it asks for a flat sandy or silty bottom, seawater meeting GB 3097, a tide level that leaves the nets dry for 3 h to 5 h, salinity of 20 to 30, total nitrogen of 200 mg/m³ or more and a current of 30 cm/s to 50 cm/s.

Seaweed farmers and fishery extension services use it. It was issued on 6 February 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.
