Scope
GB/T 35847-2018 is the English-translated version of 电致液晶贴膜调光玻璃.
GB/T 35847-2018 covers switchable glazing made by bonding a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film to glass, so that an electric field switches the glass between transparent and hazy.
It defines the PDLC light modulation film, the breakdown point, where discharge between the electrodes burns the film locally, and the bright edge, a border that stays see-through when the power is off.
It sets out the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of the glazing, drawing on national methods for light transmittance and haze, solar and ultraviolet transmittance and the optical and climatic tests of automotive safety glass.
It applies to glass whose main purpose is to control haze with a liquid crystal film adhered to its surface. It was issued on 6 February 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, and transportation of electroluminescent liquid crystal film dimming glass. And storage.
This standard applies to the dimming glass whose main purpose is to adhere the liquid crystal dimming film to the glass surface to control the haze.

3 Terms and Definitions
The definitions of GB 11614-2009 and JC/T 2129-2012 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Electro liquid crystal light modulation film; polymer dispersed liquid crystal; PDLC
It is composed of two layers of flexible transparent conductive film and one layer of polymer dispersed liquid crystal material. Through the control of the external electric field, it can be transparent and impermeable. A fast-changing film that adheres to the glass surface between the two states.
3.2 Breakdown point
Under the action of an electric field, the phenomenon of localized burning of the dimmer film is caused by the discharge between the electrodes.
3.3 Bright edge
Due to the absence or failure of the dimmer film, the edges of the product that can still see through under power-off conditions.
