Scope
GB/T 35137-2025 is the English-translated version of 柴油润滑性评定用高频往复试验机.
GB/T 35137-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the bench that rates diesel lubricity by rubbing a ball against a test piece immersed in the fuel — the load, the stroke, the frequency, the oil temperature and the test duration and how each is checked, the chamber temperature and humidity that move the wear scar, the digital microscope used to measure it, the repeatability, the verification against high and low lubricity reference oils, and the inspection rules. The permitted temperature and humidity inside the test chamber are tighter than in the 2017 edition. It replaces GB/T 35137-2017, under the China Machinery Industry Federation. In force from 1 December 2025. Issued on 30 May 2025, it has been in force since 1 December 2025, replacing GB/T 35137-2017.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Lubricity
A property of a fluid that affects friction between surfaces under load and in relative motion with friction.
Note. This testing machine uses the size of the wear spot on the test ball to evaluate the lubricity of the liquid. The size of the wear spot is expressed in microns.
The test piece is completely immersed in the liquid to be tested and the friction between them is generated under strictly controlled test conditions.
3.2 Boundary lubrication
The lubrication state between the friction surfaces is not completely dependent on the lubricant, but also contains a low shear strength compound film formed by other substances.
3.3 Wear spot diameter wearscardiameter; WSD
After the test, the wear spots on the test ball are measured and the values in the X and Y directions are calculated again to obtain the average wear value. Spot diameter.
3.4 Check
Two reference oils (high lubricity reference oil and low lubricity reference oil) with known values and expanded uncertainties were used as samples for evaluation.
Determine and compare the evaluation results with the known values.
Note. Reference oils are not certified reference materials because there is no calibration method that can calibrate them.
