Scope

GB/T 3513-2018 is the English-translated version of 硫化橡胶 与单根钢丝粘合力的测定 抽出法.

GB/T 3513-2018 sets out the pull out test for measuring how strongly vulcanized rubber adheres to a single steel wire. Wires are embedded in a rubber block of specified size, the block is vulcanized, and a tensile machine measures the force needed to pull each wire out along its axis.

It applies to rubber products and bead wire reinforced with single steel wire. The standard describes the mould, with a cavity 200 mm long, 50 mm wide and 12.5 mm deep and 15 grooves, and allows a narrower cavity by agreement when wires break too early.

The new edition adds a tensile machine to GB/T 17200, a recommended wire holder, a vulcanization temperature range and a calibration annex. It replaces GB/T 3513-2001, was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 3513-2001 "Measurement and extraction method for the adhesion of vulcanized rubber to single steel wire". The main technical changes compared with GB/T 3513-2001 are as follows.

--- Change the "wire bead" in the range to "bead wire" (see Chapter 1);

--- Change the "1.15" in the mold schematic to "1.15d" (see Figure 1);

--- Increased the requirements for the tensile machine "using a tensile testing machine that meets the requirements of GB/T 17200" (see 4.2);

--- Increased the recommended type of wire holder and the requirements for the clamping surface (see 4.3);

--- Removed "heating or steam to heat the upper and lower stencils" (see 4.4);

--- Increased vulcanization temperature control range (see 4.4);

--- Increased the content of the release agent (see 4.6);

--- Added Appendix A calibration schedule.

The previous versions of the standards replaced by this standard are:

---GB/T 3513-1983, GB/T 3513-2001.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the adhesion of vulcanized rubber to a single steel wire.

This standard applies to rubber products and bead wire reinforced with a single steel wire.

Note: Usually the bead wire is a single wire coated with brass, bronze or zinc.

3 Principle

Embedding the steel wire in a rubber block according to the specified size for vulcanization, and then measuring each wire along the axial direction of the steel wire from the rubber block on a tensile machine The force required to extract.

4 Instruments and materials

4.1 Mold

As shown in Fig. 1, the medium mold cavity has a length of 200 mm, a width of 50 mm, and a depth of 12.5 mm. In the direction perpendicular to the length of the cavity 15 inclined grooves are opened, each of which has a spacing of 12.5 mm and a depth of 6.3 mm. The middle mold is combined with the upper and lower metal templates Mold.

If the test is carried out using the sample vulcanized by the mold shown in Fig. 1, more than five steel wires are broken early (the steel wire has not been extracted yet). Pre-fracture). A mold having a cavity width of less than 50 mm can be used by mutual agreement.
