Scope
GB/T 35095-2018 is the English-translated version of π尺.
GB/T 35095-2018 covers pi tapes, measuring devices with one or more ordered sets of ruler marks and scales, a main scale and a sub-scale, used to measure the diameter of a circular object.
It gives the terms and definitions, including the coincidence deviation between the sub-scale and the main scale, the types and basic parameters, the requirements, the test conditions and methods, and marking and packaging.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, test conditions, test methods, signs and packaging.
This standard applies to the graduation value of 0.01mm, 0.02mm and 0.05mm, and the diameter measurement range is 9mm~5000mm.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 17163-2008 apply to this document.
3.1 Pi tape
a measuring device with a set of (primary and secondary scales) or multiple sets of ordered ruler marks and scales for measuring The diameter of the circular object to be measured.
3.2 Coincidence deviation
When the "zero" ruler mark on the sub-scale is coincident with a ruler mark on the main ruler, the "tail" ruler mark on the sub-scale is associated with the main ruler. The ruler should mark the difference that does not coincide.

4.1 Type
The type of pi ruler is shown in Figure 1 to Figure 3. The illustrations are for illustrative purposes only and do not represent a detailed structure.
