Scope

GB/T 34886-2026 is the English-translated version of 无损检测 复合材料激光错位散斑检测方法.

A test method for laser shearography applied to composite materials is set out in this non-destructive testing standard. Laser shearography is an optical technique used to reveal defects in composite structures, such as delamination or debonding, without damaging the part being examined.

Inspection companies, aerospace and wind energy manufacturers, composite fabricators, maintenance organizations, and testing laboratories are the likely users, along with quality engineers who need to specify a shared inspection approach. It is a recommended national standard (GB/T), so it is voluntary unless a contract or customer requires it. This 2026 edition replaces GB/T 34886-2017, meaning inspection procedures that cite the older version should be checked. It was issued on 28 September 2026 and takes effect on 1 April 2027. Readers who work with Chinese suppliers of composite parts may encounter it in inspection requirements.
