Scope

GB/T 34328-2017 is the English-translated version of 轻质物理强化玻璃.

China's national standard for lightweight heat strengthened glass. It specifies the terms and definitions, the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage, and it applies to lightweight physically tempered glass of thickness from 1.3 mm up to but not including 3 mm. Thin glass is difficult to strengthen thermally, and the reason is straightforward. Thermal toughening works by cooling the surfaces of hot glass faster than the core, so the surfaces end in compression and the core in tension, and a crack cannot start until the compression is overcome. The strength achieved depends on the temperature difference that can be established across the thickness - and in glass a millimetre or two thick there is barely any thickness to establish it across. Doing it needs quenching far more aggressive than conventional toughening, and it produces a product distinct enough to warrant its own standard. It goes where weight matters: vehicle glazing, photovoltaic modules, display and appliance panels.

1 Scope

China's national standard for lightweight heat strengthened glass. It specifies the terms and definitions, the classification, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage, and it applies to lightweight physically tempered glass of thickness from 1.3 mm up to but not including 3 mm. Thin glass is difficult to strengthen thermally, and the reason is straightforward.

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of light-weight glass, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transport And storage. This standard applies to the thickness greater than or equal to 1.3mm and less than 3mm lightweight physical tempered glass, the thickness of less than 1.3mm light Physical strengthening glass can refer to use. This standard does not apply to chemically strengthened glass.
