Scope

GB/T 34204-2025 is the English-translated version of 连续油管.

GB/T 34204-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the continuous string run into a well off a reel — the carbon, alloy, quenched and tempered, sulfur-resistant and stainless grades, the tensile properties, hardness, impact, flattening and flaring, the strip and pipe-to-pipe butt welds and their qualification, the fatigue test that exists because the pipe is bent past yield over the gooseneck on every run, the collapse and corrosion tests, and the non-destructive testing. At 44,000 words. It replaces GB/T 34204-2017, under the China Iron and Steel Association. In force from 1 February 2026. Issued on 1 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 34204-2017.
