Scope
GB/T 33966-2017 is the English-translated version of 输送砂浆用耐磨无缝钢管.
GB/T 33966-2017 is the Chinese national standard for seamless abrasion-resistant steel pipes for mortar service, and this record is served with the official English translation.
It specifies the designation, the ordering contents, the size, shape and weight, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, and the packaging, marking and quality certificate.
The designation is formed from NM, the first capital letters of the Chinese pinyin for abrasion-resistant, followed by the specified minimum Rockwell hardness after heat treatment, as in NM60.
The ordering contents list the standard number, the product name, the steel designation, the size and specification, the quantity as total weight or total length, the delivery state and any particular requirements.
The technical requirements cover the outer diameter and wall thickness, the non-destructive testing acceptance levels for eddy current, magnetic flux leakage and ultrasonic examination, and the surface quality, with the permissible depth of removal of cracks, folds, rolling folds, separation layers and scars set at 4 % of the wall thickness and 0.3 mm maximum for cold-drawn or cold-rolled pipe and 5 % and 0.5 mm for hot-rolled or expanded pipe.
The test methods fix the chemical analysis by instrumental and wet methods, with the wet analysis governing in arbitration, the measurement of Rockwell hardness near the middle of the wall thickness, and the piece-by-piece measurement of size and shape and visual examination of the inner and outer surface.
It applies to abrasion-resistant seamless steel pipe for concrete, cement mortar and slurry service. It cites GB/T 222, GB/T 223.5, GB/T 223.12, GB/T 223.14, GB/T 223.19, GB/T 223.23, YB/T 4149, YB/T 5221 and YB/T 5222. It was issued on 12 July 2017 and has applied since 1 April 2018.

3 Designation
The steel designation consists of two parts, namely, the first capital letter of Chinese Pinyin "Nai Mo", NM; and specified minimum Rockwell hardness after heat treatment. Example: NM60, thereof.
NM - first capital letter of Chinese Pinyin "Nai Mo" [Translator note. i.e. Abrasion-Resistant];
60 - specified minimum Rockwell hardness after heat treatment.
