Scope
GB/T 34013-2026 is the English-translated version of 电动汽车用动力蓄电池产品规格尺寸.
GB/T 34013-2026 provides the typical dimensions of traction batteries for electric vehicles and applies to traction batteries for electric vehicles. It defines cylindrical, prismatic and pouch cells, the battery cell and the battery pack, sets the method for determining products belonging to the same dimension series, and gives the standardised dimensions of cylindrical, prismatic and pouch cells, of battery packs for heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles, and — new in this edition — of battery packs and systems designed for battery swapping. This 2026 edition replaces GB/T 34013-2017: it changes the scope and the cell dimensions, adds a clause of symbols and the swappable pack dimensions, moves the pack dimensions from the annex into the body of the document, and deletes both the dimensional tolerance requirements and the module dimensions of the previous edition. It was drafted under SAC/TC 114 by a group that includes CATARC, CATL, Gotion, BYD, CALB, SVOLT, EVE Energy, Farasis, Volkswagen China, BMW China and Tesla (Shanghai).

Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 “Directives for standardization — Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents”.
This document replaces GB/T 34013-2017 “Dimension of traction battery for electric vehicles”. Compared with GB/T 34013-2017, apart from structural and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
— the scope has been changed (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 2017 edition);
— symbols have been added (see Clause 4);
— the dimensional tolerance requirements have been deleted (see 4.1 of the 2017 edition);
— the method for determining products of the same dimension series has been changed (see Clause 5; 4.2 of the 2017 edition);
— the dimensions of the battery cells have been changed (see Clause 6; Clause 5 of the 2017 edition);
— the dimensions of the battery modules have been deleted (see Clause 6 of the 2017 edition);
— the dimensions of the battery packs have been changed (see Clause 7; Annex A of the 2017 edition);
— the dimensions of battery packs or systems for battery swapping have been added (see Clause 8).
