GB/T 33906-2017 is the English-translated version of 摄影用大型电子闪光装置.

GB/T 33906-2017 is the Chinese national standard for large-scale electronic flash apparatus for photographic purposes. It gives the terms and definitions, the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules for the apparatus, which it calls flash devices throughout.

It applies to photographic electronic flash devices fed from AC or DC supply that store 100 J of energy or more.

Among the terms it defines are the flashtube, the sealed glass tube filled with xenon or another inert gas that discharges the energy stored in the capacitor when the trigger pulse arrives, the flash reflector, which sends the flash in the wanted direction and whose shape and optical properties set the reflector coefficient, the test flash button on the lamp body and the modelling light mounted on the front of the unit.

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the large-scale electronic flash device for photography (hereinafter referred to as flash devices), technical requirements, test methods and testing regulations.

This standard applies to AC and DC power supply, storage of energy at 100J above the electronic flash device for photography.

3.1 Flash tube

The light emitting element in the flash device.

Note: The sealed glass tube is filled with xenon or other inert gas, triggered by the pulse, the energy stored in the capacitor through the gas instantaneous discharge flash. The flash tube can flash repeatedly.

3.2 Flash reflector

A device that reflects the flash into the desired direction.

Note: It can affect the effective firing angle of the flash, its shape and optical characteristics determine the reflector coefficient.

3.3 Try flash button

Flash device Lightly trigger parts on the lamp body.

3.4 Modeling lights

A continuous light source mounted on the front of the flash unit.
