GB/T 33722-2025 is the English-translated version of 电鸣乐器音色与音乐风格中文通用名称.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part
1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 33722-2017 "General Chinese Names for Timbre and Musical Style of Electric Musical Instruments" and is consistent with GB/T 33722-2017. In comparison, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Added terminology for electric musical instruments (see 3.1);
b) The Chinese names for the guitar's limited timbres have been changed (see Table 4,.2017 edition);
c) Change the Chinese name of the timbre from "tremolo string music" to "tremolo bow string music" and from "plucked string music" to "plucked string music" (see Table 6). Table 6 (2017 edition)
d) The English names of the French horn, warm French horn, and octave brass ensemble timbres have been changed (see Table 8, Table 8 in the.2017 edition);
e) Change the Chinese name of the tone from "bass saxophone" to "upper bass saxophone" (see Table 9,.2017 edition);
f) Change the Chinese name of the timbre from "Goddess Lead" to "Steamer Pipe Organ Lead" (see Table 10,.2017 edition);
g) The types and names of the timbres of Chinese folk musical instruments have been changed (see Table 15, Table 15 in the.2017 edition);
h) The categories and names of 8-beat music styles have been changed (see Table 26, Table 26 in the.2017 edition);
i) The types and names of 16-beat music styles have been changed (see Table 27, Table 27 in the.2017 edition);
j) Some popular music genres and names have been removed, while new genres and names for love songs have been added (see Table 28,.2017 edition). Table 28);
k) Some categories and names of ballad music styles have been removed, and electric piano ballads, piano ballads, popular ballads, and narrative ballads have been added. Types and names of musical styles (see Table 29,.2017 edition);
