Scope
GB/T 33697-2017 is the English-translated version of 公路交通气象监测设施技术要求.
GB/T 33697-2017 sets the technical requirements for the facilities that monitor the weather along highways: what the system is made of, what it monitors and what the monitoring equipment has to do.
Such a facility has two parts: a highway traffic weather monitoring station, of sensors, collectors, power supplies, communication modules, brackets and chassis, with software that acquires, processes, communicates and controls; and a central station monitoring and management system, of computers and network devices, whose software manages the stations from a distance and links them into a network.
It defines road surface temperature, taken at and inside the surface, and road surface conditions, which may be dry, wet, water, snow or ice. It cites GB/T 4208-2008, QX 30-2004, QX/T 45-2007, QX/T 61-2007 and QX/T 190-2013. It was issued on 12 May 2017 and has applied since 1 December 2017.

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements for the system composition, monitoring items and monitoring equipment for highway traffic meteorological monitoring facilities.
This standard applies to highway traffic weather monitoring.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Road surface temperature
Road surface and the temperature inside the road surface.
Note: Pavement refers to the use of various road materials paved in the roadbed on the road directly to bear the load of the layered structure (see GB J124-1988, JTJ002-1987).
3.2 Road surface conditions
Road surface showing dry and wet, cold and warm, cover and other state.
Note: The road conditions are dry, wet, water, snow, ice and other surface conditions.
4 System components
The road traffic weather monitoring facility consists of two parts.
a) Highway traffic weather monitoring station (hereinafter referred to as "monitoring station") consists of hardware and software (see QX/T 45-2007,
QX/T 61-2007). Hardware includes sensors, collectors, power supplies, communication modules, brackets and chassis. The software includes having Acquisition, processing, communication and control functions of the application software.
b) The central station monitoring and management system (hereinafter referred to as "central station") consists of hardware and software. Hardware includes computers and network devices.
The software includes the system software and the application software, in which the application software has the long-distance monitoring and management function, will the number of the monitoring station and the center Station to establish a link and the formation of highway traffic weather monitoring station network.
