Scope
GB/T 33688-2017 is the English-translated version of 选煤磁选设备工艺效果评定方法.
GB/T 33688-2017 gives the indices and the arithmetic for judging how well a magnetic separator used in coal preparation is doing its job.
It takes the magnetic material recovery ratio as the main index and the non-magnetic material removal ratio as the secondary one: the first is the share of the magnetic material in the feed that ends up in the concentrate, the second the share of the non-magnetic material that leaves with the tailings.
The evaluation clause gives the formulae, worked from the magnetic content of the feed, of the concentrate and of the tailings together with the concentrate yield, all as mass fractions in per cent.
Coal preparation plants use it to compare separators. It cites GB/T 7186, GB/T 18711 and MT/T 808, was issued on 12 May 2017 and has applied since 1 December 2017.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the evaluation index and calculation method of the process effect of coal preparation magnetic separation equipment.

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 7186 Definitions and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Magnetic material recovery rate
The magnetic material recovered in the concentrate of the magnetic separation device occupies the mass fraction (%) of the magnetic material in the feed.
3.2 Non-magnetic material removal rate
The nonmagnetic material discharged from the tailings of the magnetic separation equipment occupies the mass fraction (%) of the nonmagnetic material in the feed.
4 Assessment method
4.1 This standard uses the magnetic recovery rate as the main indicator of the effect of magnetic separation equipment, non-magnetic removal rate as a secondary index.
4.2 magnetic material recovery by type (1).
Where: epsilon - magnetic material recovery rate, %; gammabeta - concentrate yield, %;
Malpha - magnetic content in the magnetic material, expressed as mass fraction of the mass of the magnetically selected material,%;
Mbeta - magnetic content in magnetic concentrate, expressed as mass fraction of magnetic concentrate concentrate,%;
Mtheta - magnetic content in magnetic separation tailings, expressed as mass fraction of magnetic separation tailings.
