Scope

GB/T 3367.3-2018 is the English-translated version of 内燃机车词汇第3部分：车体、转向架及制动装置.

Part 3 of China's national vocabulary for diesel locomotives, covering the three assemblies that carry and stop the machine: the car body, the bogie and the brake equipment. It replaces two documents at once - GB/T 3367.4-2000 on locomotive and bogie parts and GB/T 3367.5-2000 on air brake device names - and merging them was the right call, because a bogie and the brakes mounted in it are not separable in practice. The revision is dense with renamings that look pedantic and are not: ceiling becomes top cover, frame becomes underframe, the definition of car body itself is rewritten and four kinds of body are defined where there had been one. Each of those changes settles an argument that was previously settled by whoever was speaking. New terms appear for parts that did not exist in 2000 - the driver's interior, the rear-view mirror, the brake compartment, the transmission compartment - which is what a locomotive built for a modern crew and a modern maintenance regime actually contains.

Foreword

GB/T 3367 "Dictionary of Diesel Locomotive" is divided into five parts.

--- Part 1. Basic vocabulary;

--- Part 2. Diesel engine;

--- Part 3. car body, bogie and brake device;

--- Part 4. Hydraulic drive system;

--- Part 5. Auxiliary devices.

This part is the third part of GB/T 3367.

This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces GB/T 3367.4-2000 "The terminology of railway locomotives for diesel locomotives and bogie parts" and

GB/T 3367.5-2000 "Railway locomotive terminology air brake device parts name".

Compared with GB/T 3367.4-2000 and GB/T 3367.5-2000, the main technical changes in this section are as follows.

--- Revised the definition of "car body" (see 2.1.1);

--- Added the definition of "carriage body", "non-loaded car body", "hood car body" and "shed body" (see 2.1.1.1~2.1.1.4);

---Modify "ceiling" as "top cover" (see 2.1.2.1, 2.1.1 of GB/T 3367.4-2000);

--- Modify the "side wall" to "side wall" (see 2.1.2.2, 2.1.2 of GB/T 3367.4-2000);

--- Modify the "end wall" to "end wall" (see 2.1.2.3, 2.1.3 of GB/T 3367.4-2000);

--- Modify the "wall" to "partition wall" (see 2.1.2.4, 2.1.4 of GB/T 3367.4-2000);

---Modify the "wall door" as "wall door" (see 2.1.7, 2.6 of GB/T 3367.4-2000);

This part of GB/T 3367 defines the terms and definitions of the body, bogie, brakes and their main components of diesel locomotives.

This section applies to the body of the diesel locomotive, bogies and brakes.
