GB/T 33517-2017 is the English-translated version of 电力液压鼓式制动器 技术条件.
GB/T 33517-2017 gives the technical specifications for electro-hydraulic drum brakes, that is drum brakes driven by an electro-hydraulic thrustor. It sets out the terms and definitions, the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules for these brakes.
Among the terms it defines are the back gap of the brake shoe, the radial clearance between the friction surface of the brake shoe assembly and that of the brake drum when the brake is released, and the aligning of the brake shoes, by which an adjusting device or other measure keeps the friction surfaces of shoe and drum properly in contact when the brake is applied.
It takes its vocabulary from GB/T 26665 and cites JB/T 10603 for the thrustor and JB/T 7021 for the connection dimensions. Issued on 28 February 2017, it has applied since 1 June 2017.

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods and inspection regulations for electric hydraulic drum brakes (hereinafter referred to as brakes) Such as technical content.
This standard is applicable to drum brakes with electric hydraulic pusher (hereinafter referred to as pusher) as the driving device.

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 26665 Definitions and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Brake shoe back gap
The radial clearance between the friction surface of the brake shoe assembly and the friction surface of the brake drum in the released state.
