GB/T 33223-2024 is the English-translated version of 轧制设备 术语.

China's national vocabulary for rolling equipment. It defines the basic terms and then works through the whole of a rolling plant: the mill stand, roll drive and main components; the heating equipment; blooming mills, strip mills, Steckel mills, section mills, foil mills, tube rolling equipment and precision mills; the finishing equipment; the surface treatment and heat treatment equipment; the guiding, conveying and packaging equipment; the deep processing equipment for rolled products; the cooling and lubrication equipment; and the detection, control and automation equipment, closing with a bibliography and an index. It replaces GB/T 33223-2016. A vocabulary standard of this size exists because rolling is the oldest continuously developed large-scale manufacturing process there is, and its terminology accumulated over two centuries in several languages and half a dozen national traditions. The same machine is a Sendzimir mill, a twenty-high mill or a cluster mill depending on who is speaking; the same defect has a different name in a hot mill and a cold mill; and the Chinese terms were borrowed at different times from Russian, German, Japanese and English practice. When a mill is bought from one country, installed by contractors from another and operated by engineers trained in a third, the cost of that ambiguity is real. This edition is notable for how much it deletes. A long list of terms is removed - among them a whole family of tube mill types, several mill configurations, various universal joint types, and general terms such as controlled rolling and controlled cooling - which is what happens when a vocabulary is revised by people who have to keep it usable rather than complete. This document defines the terms and their definitions related to various equipment in the rolling field. This document is applicable to the construction of standard system and drafting of standards in the rolling field. Flow and teaching practice.

3.1 Rolling technology and process

3.1.1 Rolling Calendering The metal material undergoes continuous plastic deformation under the pressure of the rotating rollers (4.3.1) to change its cross-sectional shape, size and mechanical properties. Energy process methods.

Note. In this document, steel and non-ferrous metals are collectively referred to as "metallic materials".

3.1.2 longitudinal rollinglongitudinalrolling;axialrolling The rollers (4.3.1) are arranged parallel to each other and rotate in opposite directions. The workpiece (3.3.1) translates between the rollers in a direction parallel to the axis of the rollers. The plane formed is perpendicular to the rolling (3.1.1).

3.1.3 crossrolling; transverseroling; spreadrolling The axes of the rollers (4.3.1) and the workpiece (3.3.1) are parallel to each other, and the workpiece is rolled in relative rotation between the rollers rotating in the same direction. (3.1.1).

3.1.4 Screwrolling The rollers (4.3.1) are arranged to be inclined at a set rolling angle (3.1.1) and have the same direction of rotation, and the rolled piece (3.3.1) rotates and moves forward under the action of the rollers. Rolling (3.1.1).

Note. Cross-rolling is generally hot rolling, and is mainly used to produce seamless steel pipes, steel balls and other rolled products.

3.1.4.1 Using the plug (11.3.4) as the internal deformation tool, the solid tube billet is rolled (3.1.1) into a hollow rough tube (3.3.2.4.1) by oblique rolling (3.1.4).
