GB/T 33073-2016 is the English-translated version of 含镍废料处理处置技术规范.
This standard is the technical specification for nickel scrap treatment and disposal.
Clause 1 states that it specifies the classification of nickel-containing waste, the treatment and disposal methods, the nickel leaching rate and recovery rate together with the ways of calculating them, and the environmental protection and safety requirements, and that it applies to the disposal of nickel-containing waste.
The clause on the classification of nickel-containing wastes, whose number the draft does not print, sets no classes of its own and refers instead to the classification of GB/T 21179-2007.
Clause 4, disposal of technical methods, opens with 4.1 heat treatment and its first subclause 4.1.1 fire treatment, written as a purpose, an equipment item and a process item: the purpose is to melt nickel-containing waste such as spent catalyst and nickel alloy scrap at high temperature and refine the nickel out of it, and the equipment may be a smelting furnace, an electric arc furnace or similar.
The sentence describing the process, in which the waste is mixed with a proportion of flux and coke and charged to the furnace, is cut off in mid-air and the draft ends there, so the leaching and recovery rate calculations and the environmental and safety requirements announced in clause 1 are not shown.
Clause 2 cites GB 9078, GB 13271 and GB 16297, along with several titles on hazardous waste identification, storage and transport, on wastewater and noise, and on emissions from the copper and nickel industry, whose numbers the draft does not print.
It was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association and is under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization Technical Committee on Disposal of Waste Chemicals (SAC/TC294), with Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd. first among the drafting units. It was issued on 2016-10-13 and has applied since 2017-05-01.

4 Disposal of technical methods
4.1 Heat treatment
