GB/T 32910.4-2021 is the fourth part of the Chinese series on resource utilisation in data centres, and it defines the renewable energy factor: how much of the energy a data centre consumes comes from renewable sources.
It gives the definition of the indicator and the way it is measured and calculated, including what counts as renewable energy bought or generated on site and over which period the figure is taken.
It applies to the calculation of the renewable energy utilisation rate of a data centre, and can be used when designing, building, operating, maintaining or refurbishing one.
Operators and auditors use it to report a comparable figure. Issued on 30 April 2021, it has applied since 1 November 2021.

GB/T 32910 "Data Center Resource Utilization" is currently divided into the following parts.

This part is Part 4 of GB/T 32910.
This section was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 32910 gives the definition of the utilization rate of renewable energy in data centers, and proposes the use of renewable energy in data centers.
The measurement method and calculation method of utilization rate.
This part is applicable to the calculation of the utilization rate of renewable energy in the data center.
For the design, construction, operation and maintenance and transformation of data centers.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 32910.1-2017 apply to this document.
3.1 Datacenter
By the computer field (computer room), other infrastructure, information system software and hardware, information resources (data) and personnel, and corresponding regulations Entity composed of degrees.
3.2 Datacenterresource
The general term for various material elements such as material, financial, and human resources used and possessed to support the normal operation of the data center.
Note: Resources include, for example, energy, human resources, information resources, and computing resources.
3.3 Renewableenergy
A type of primary energy. To a certain extent, this type of energy on the earth can be regenerated in natural processes.
Note: This type of energy includes, for example, solar energy, hydropower, wind energy, biomass energy, ocean energy, and geothermal energy.
3.4 Renewable energy factor
The ratio of the renewable energy used by the data center to the total energy consumption of the data center.
