Scope
GB/T 32715-2016 is the English-translated version of 整装微型水轮发电机组.
China's national standard for integrated micro hydro generating units. It specifies the terms and definitions, the basic parameters, the model designation, the technical requirements and test methods, the factory inspection, the nameplate, packaging, transport and storage, the installation, and the operation, maintenance and repair of these units, with an informative annex giving the performance parameters of complete micro hydro turbine generator sets. It applies to units of rated power 100 kW and below. An integrated unit is one in which the turbine, the generator and the control equipment are assembled and supplied as a single package rather than being specified, procured and matched on site. That distinction is what the standard exists for. A conventional hydro installation is engineered: the head and flow of the site are surveyed, a turbine is selected and its runner designed for those conditions, a generator is matched to it, and the civil works are built around the result. That process is entirely appropriate for a megawatt station and entirely disproportionate for a stream turning a machine the size of a motorcycle engine. Micro hydro at this scale is installed in villages, on farms and at remote facilities, by people who are not hydraulic engineers, at sites that will never see a specialist survey. Supplying the unit as a matched package moves the engineering into the factory and leaves the installer with a machine that has a stated head and flow range and a stated output. That is why the standard covers installation and operation as well as manufacture: for this product they are part of what is being standardised, because the person doing them has only the manual. Issued on 29 August 2016 and in force since 1 March 2017.

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the complete micro-hydro-generator (hereinafter referred to as the unit). The basic parameters, type and technology Summarize the test method, and the factory inspection, nameplate, packaging, transportation and storage, installation, operation, maintenance and maintenance requirements. This standard applies to the rated power of 100kW and below the unit.
