Scope
GB/T 32687-2016 is the English-translated version of 氨基酸产品分类导则.
GB/T 32687-2016 is a guideline that fixes the terms, the definitions and the classification of amino acid products. Clause 1 states that it applies to the production, marketing, application, research and teaching of amino acid products and to other related fields.
Clause 2 cites the basic terminology for the food industry, whose code the reference list itself omits and which the page records elsewhere as GB/T 15091; clause 3 takes over the definitions of GB/T 15091 and then adds its own.
Those definitions begin with the amino acid product, given as the collective name for amino acids, amino acid salts, amino acid chelates, amino acid derivatives, small peptides and polyamino acid products, and with the amino acid itself, given as a class of organic compounds containing an amino group and a carboxyl group and represented by the general formula H2NCHRCOOH.
They continue with the protein amino acid, described as the codon-encoded basic unit of protein and as an alpha-amino acid except for proline, the non-proteinogenic amino acid, described as an amino acid other than a protein amino acid and not codon-encoded, the aliphatic amino acid and the aromatic amino acid, distinguished by whether the side chain R is an aliphatic or an aromatic group, a protein amino acid whose side chain R is an imidazole ring or an indole ring, and a protein amino acid that contains an imino group and whose side chain R is a pyrrole ring; the draft labels both of the last two heterocyclic and does not print the first of them with a distinct term name.
The draft breaks off after those definitions, so the classification announced in clause 1 is not displayed.
The standard was proposed and is held by the National Food Industry Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC64), and the drafting bodies include Wuxi Jinghai Amino Acid Co., Ltd., Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Fufeng Group Co., Ltd., Nankai University, Jilin University and the China Bio-Fermentation Industry Association.
It carries ICS 67.180.20 and Chinese classification X69, and it was issued on 14 June 2016 and has applied since 1 January 2017.

3 Terms and definitions
The following definitions and definitions as defined in GB/T 15091 apply to this document.
3.1 Amino acid products
Amino acids, amino acid salts, amino acid chelates, amino acid derivatives, small peptides and polyamino acid products collectively.
3.2 Amino acid
The general formula of a class of organic compounds containing an amino group and a carboxyl group is represented by the formula. H2NCHRCOOH.
3.3 Protein amino acid
The basic units that make up the protein and codon-encoded amino acids are alpha-amino acids in addition to proline.
3.4 Non-proteinogenic amino acid
Amino acids other than protein amino acids are not codon-encoded.
3.5 Aliphatic amino acids
The side chain R is a protein amino acid of the aliphatic group.
3.6 Aromatic amino acids
The side chain R is a protein amino acid of the aromatic group.
3.7 Heterocyclic amino acid
The side chain R is a protein amino acid of the imidazole ring or indole ring.
3.8 Heterocyclic amino acid
A protein amino acid containing an imino group and a side chain R group is a pyrrole ring.
