Scope

GB/T 32522-2016 is the English-translated version of 声学 压电球面聚焦超声换能器的电声特性及其测量.

GB/T 32522-2016 specifies the electro-acoustic characteristics of the spherically focusing ultrasonic transducer made from spherical crown shaped piezoelectric material, which it abbreviates to spherical focus ultrasonic transducer, and the methods of measuring them.

Clause 1 limits the standard to the working frequency range 1.0 MHz to 15 MHz, states that it does not apply to focusing transducer arrays or to acoustic lens focusing transducers, and notes that below 1.0 MHz the standard may be used for reference.

The basic data gives GB/T 7966-2009 as the cited standard, and clause 3 quotes two of its definitions, for the free field and for radiation conductance Gr, before defining the transmit voltage (current) response of a spherical focusing transducer as the ratio of the emitted sound pressure on the effective radiating surface to the input voltage or current in the free field at a given frequency.

The contents list clause 4 symbols, clause 5 General, clause 6 Measurement system requirements and clause 7 Focus sound field parameter measurement, then entries on radiation conductance measurement, on the transmit current (voltage) response and receiving sensitivity measurement of the spherical focusing transducer, on the measurement of electroacoustic efficiency, on the measurement of the input impedance (admittance) of the transducer and on measurement uncertainty, several of which the draft prints without their clause numbers.

Seven appendices follow: normative ones giving the average reflection coefficient of the spherical focusing sound beam incident on a water to stainless steel plane interface as a function of the focusing (half) angle and a numerical table of the diffraction correction function Gsf(R/lambda, beta), and informative ones on the calculation of that diffraction correction coefficient, on the sound velocity and attenuation coefficient of water, on guidelines for the reciprocity calibration of spherical focusing transducers, on the relationship between the electro-acoustic parameters of the transducer and their applicability, and on a measurement record table.

The foreword says the standard was proposed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is held by the National Acoustics Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC17).

The page files it under ICS 17.140 and Chinese classification A59. It was issued on 24 February 2016 and has applied since 1 September 2016.

Foreword

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies a ball-shaped piezoelectric material made of spherical spherical ultrasonic transducer (hereinafter referred to as spherical focus ultrasonic transducer) Electro - acoustic characteristics and their measurement methods.

This standard applies to the operating frequency range of 1.0MHz ~ 15MHz.

This standard does not apply to focus converters for focusing transducer arrays and acoustic lenses.

Note: 1.0MHz below can refer to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Free field

Uniformly isotropic media, the boundary can not affect the sound field. [GB/T 7966-2009, definition 3.2]

3.2 Radiation conductance Gr

The ratio of the acoustic output power to the RMS (RMS) of the transducer input voltage. Used to characterize the electro-acoustic conversion characteristics of the transducer.

Note 1. The unit is Siemens (S).

Note 2. The frequency of the signal voltage (or current) is indicated. [GB/T 7966-2009, definition 3.8]

3.3 Spherical Focus Transducer Transmit Voltage (Current) Response

At a given frequency, the ratio of the emitted sound pressure to the input voltage (current) on the effective radiating surface of the spherical focusing transducer in the free field.

Note: The unit is per Pa (Pa/V), Pa per (Pa/A).
