1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for tensile testing composite metal-based terms and definitions, symbols and descriptions principle, test equipment, samples, test requirements and test reports.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 metal matrix composites
Metal (such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium, nickel, etc.) or alloy matrix, particles, fibers, whiskers, etc. to enhance the composite body.
3.2 gauge length
Cylindrical specimens measuring the elongation or length of the prism portion used.
3.2.1 original gauge length
Standard test specimens at room temperature before the pitch.
3.2.2 final gauge length after fracture
