1 Scope

GB/T 32151.35-2025 is the glass fibre part of the Chinese greenhouse gas accounting and reporting series. Glass fibre production is energy intensive in a particular way: the furnace holds a glass melt at around fifteen hundred degrees continuously for years, so fuel combustion dominates, and on top of it the carbonate raw materials decompose to give direct process carbon dioxide that has nothing to do with the fuel. Both have to be accounted separately, and this standard says how. It sets the calculation steps, the accounting boundaries and the emission sources, the accounting requirements and the emission calculation for each source, the data quality management requirements and the content and format of the report, with informative annexes giving the reporting template and the default values of the parameters. China makes the majority of the world's glass fibre, so for a purchaser of Chinese reinforcement asking for embodied carbon, this is the document that defines what the answer means. It takes effect on 1 August 2025.

This document specifies the calculation steps, calculation boundaries and emission sources, calculation requirements and Emissions calculations, data quality management requirements, report content and format. This document applies to greenhouse gas emissions from glass fiber product manufacturers such as glass balls, glass fiber yarn, fabrics, felts and multi-layer fabrics Quantity accounting and reporting.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 18374 and GB/T 32150 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Greenhouse gas The natural and human-caused gases in the atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation from the Earth's surface, atmosphere, and clouds. The gaseous component of radiation with wavelengths in the infrared spectrum.
