Scope

GB/T 31153-2014 is the English-translated version of 小型水力发电站汇水区降水资源气候评价方法.

GB/T 31153-2014 sets out the climatic evaluation method for the precipitation resource in the catchment area of small hydropower stations.

Clause 1 states that the standard specifies the method for the climatic evaluation of the precipitation resource of the catchment area of a small hydroelectric station, and that it applies to the evaluation of the catchment rainfall climatic resources of small hydropower stations with an installed capacity of 5MW to 50MW.

The contents list runs 1 Scope, 2 Normative references, 3 Terms and definitions, 4 Precipitation observation site, 5 Selection of the certified reference station and 6 Climate evaluation method for the catchment precipitation resource, followed by Appendix A, normative, on consistency calculation methods, and a bibliography.

Clause 3 defines six terms: the catchment area, taken as the whole upstream precipitation catchment of the main stream and tributaries of the small hydroelectric station, with a note that its boundary is generally the watershed boundary; the area rainfall, the average annual precipitation over a given area within a given period; the rainstorm, precipitation of 50mm or more in 24h; the precipitation resource, the total precipitation water of the area, calculated as the catchment area rainfall multiplied by the catchment area and referred to formula (1); the accumulated frequency of precipitation, the cumulative frequency of precipitation greater than or equal to a threshold, with a note that it indicates the reliability of precipitation at or above a boundary value; and the wet year, a year ranked between 75 per cent and 95 per cent in the annual precipitation sequence sorted in ascending order.

The draft breaks off after 3.6, so the content of clauses 4 to 6 is not shown. Clause 2 cites GB/T 20486, QX/T 52-2007, QX/T 65-2007 and SL 21-2006.

The page records the standard as proposed by the China Meteorological Administration, administered by the national meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC345) and drafted by the Meteorological Bureau of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was issued on 3 September 2014 and has applied since 1 January 2015.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Catchment

All the main catchment area tributaries upstream precipitation of small hydroelectric stations.

Note: generally the watershed boundary and other watershed boundary.

3.2 Area Rainfall

The average annual precipitation on a certain area within a certain period of time.

3.3 Rainstorm

24h rainfall of 50mm or more precipitation.

3.4 Precipitation Resources

The Department of total precipitation water area. Total precipitation for the catchment area rainfall multiplied by the catchment area.

Note: The calculation method, see the formula (1).

3.5 Precipitation guaranteed rate

Precipitation is greater than or equal to a threshold value of the cumulative frequency.

NOTE: indicates the reliability of greater than or equal to a boundary precipitation.

3.6 Wet years

Annual precipitation sequence (in ascending order) ranked in the sequence of precipitation 75% to 95% of the year.
