Scope

GB/T 31033-2025 is the English-translated version of 石油天然气钻井井控技术要求.

GB/T 31033-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering keeping a well under control while it is being drilled — the well control design with its safety distances and drilling fluid margin, the blowout preventer stack, choke and kill manifolds and remote console up to the 140 MPa class, the checks before the bit reaches the reservoir, the shut-in procedure, the hydrogen sulfide and fire measures on sour wells, and what is done once a blowout is no longer contained. Of the four annexes only the well shut-in procedure is normative, which says where the document expects no discretion. Issued on 28 February 2025, it has been in force since 1 September 2025, replacing GB/T 31033-2014.
