Scope
GB/T 30392-2013 is the English-translated version of 植物蜡.
GB/T 30392-2013 covers vegetable wax. Clause 1 states that the standard specifies its classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, transport and storage, and that it applies to vegetable wax made from palm oil or soybean oil by hydrogenation, hydrolysis or fractionation, or refined.
Clause 3, on product classification and nomenclature, first divides the product by plant raw material into palm wax and soy wax, each obtained from its oil by hydrogenation, hydrolysis or fractionation and refining.
The same clause then divides vegetable waxes by melting range into four specifications, type I at 40 to 50 degrees C, type II at 51 to 55 degrees C, type III at 56 to 60 degrees C and type IV at 61 to 70 degrees C, and records that the appearance is a white to pale yellow solid or semi-solid.
Clause 4 sets the performance indicators in Table 1: no odour, a Lovibond colour in a 133.4 mm cell of R not above 4 and Y not above 35, moisture and volatile matter not above 0.5 per cent, and melting points of below 51, 51 to 55, 56 to 60 and above 61 degrees C for the four types in turn.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 191 on packaging pictorial marks, GB/T 5528 on the moisture and volatile matter content of animal and vegetable fats, GB/T 5536 on the melting point of vegetable oils, GB/T 6679 on sampling solid chemical products and GB/T 22460 on the Lovibond colour of animal and vegetable fats, together with JJF 1070 on the net content of prepackaged goods and the State administration order [2005] No. 75 on their metrological supervision.
The draft breaks off inside Table 1, so the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on signs, transport and storage are not shown. It was issued on 31 December 2013 and has applied since 22 June 2014.
