3 Definition

Moisture content

It is the ratio between the mass of free water contained in a refractory material sample and the original mass of the sample, with the values expressed in %.

4 Principle

The sample of a refractory material is dried at 105°C to 110°C and its loss in mass is the mass of free water contained by the sample.
