Scope

GB/T 2985-2026 is the English-translated version of 生物显微镜.

Biological microscopes are the workhorse instruments of teaching, clinical and research laboratories, and this document sets out the national requirements for them. It specifies classification and basic parameters, requirements, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and it describes the corresponding test methods. It applies to biological microscopes of various types, whether built for a mechanical tube length of 160 mm or of the infinity type.

Instrument manufacturers can use it to define and verify their products, while laboratories, schools and purchasing departments may refer to it when evaluating equipment. Inspection bodies will find the test and inspection rules relevant for acceptance of delivered lots. This is a recommended national standard. It was issued on 28 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 March 2027. It replaces GB/T 2985-2008, the earlier edition, so product documentation prepared against the 2008 version should be reviewed against this one.

Foreword

GB/T 2985-2026 is a recommended national standard (GB/T) of the People's Republic of China, issued on 28 August 2026 by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China, with effect from 1 March 2027.

This edition replaces GB/T 2985-2008.

It is under the responsibility of the China Machinery Industry Federation.
