Scope
GB/T 29637-2023 is the English-translated version of 疑似毒品中氯胺酮检验.
GB/T 29637-2023 is the Chinese forensic method for identifying and measuring ketamine in suspected drug samples.
Ketamine is extracted from the sample and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, by liquid chromatography and by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, with retention time, characteristic ions or ion pairs and their abundance ratios as the basis for the judgement, while the quantitative method is liquid chromatography, using the peak area with either an external standard single-point method or an external standard calibration curve.
The reagents it names for the GC-MS work are chromatographic grade methanol, n-hexane, sodium carbonate, anhydrous sodium sulfate and a 20% sodium carbonate solution, and an appendix carries basic data on ketamine.
It replaces GB/T 29637-2013, was issued on 27 November 2023 and has applied since 1 June 2024.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 29637-2013 "Gas Chromatography and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Test Methods for Ketamine in Suspected Drugs" and is consistent with Compared with GB/T 29637-2013, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
---Changed the "scope" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2013 edition);
---Deleted the principle of gas chromatography method (see Chapter 4 of the 2013 edition);
---Added the principles of liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry methods (see Chapter 4);
---Deleted gas chromatography analysis reagents and reference materials, instruments and measuring instruments (see Chapter 5 of the 2013 edition);
--- Added reagents, instruments and materials for liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (see Chapter 5);
---Changed the mass concentration of the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry qualitative quality control standard working solution (see 5.1.1.6, 6.1 of the 2013 version);
---Added liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry qualitative analysis (see 6.1.2 and 6.2);
---Deleted gas chromatography quantitative analysis (see Chapter 7 of the 2013 edition);
---Added liquid chromatography quantitative analysis (see Chapter 7);
---Changed the result evaluation (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of the 2013 edition).
1 Scope
This document describes the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), liquid chromatography (LC), and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) qualitative testing of ketamine.
Principles, reagents, instruments and materials, test analysis steps and result evaluation of test methods and liquid chromatography (LC) quantitative test methods.
This document is suitable for qualitative and quantitative analysis of ketamine in suspected drugs.

4 Principles
Extract ketamine from suspected drugs (see Appendix A for basic information on ketamine). using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography Method detection, based on gas chromatography-mass spectrometry retention time, mass spectrometry characteristic ions, ion abundance ratio and liquid chromatography retention time as the basis for qualitative judgment According to the data; liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry is used for detection, and the retention time, mass spectrum characteristic ion pair and ion pair abundance ratio are used as the basis for qualitative judgment; using For liquid chromatography detection, the chromatographic peak area is used as the quantitative basis, and the external standard single point method or the external standard standard curve method is used for quantitative analysis.
