Scope

GB/T 29593-2013 is the English-translated version of 表面保护用牛皮纸胶粘带.

GB/T 29593-2013 covers kraft paper adhesive tape used to protect surfaces.

Clause 1 states that the standard specifies its classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and that it applies to tape built on a kraft paper substrate with adhesive coated on the face and a release coating and, or, waterproofing material on the back, used mainly to protect plastic sheet and roll surface materials, furniture, boards and decorative materials.

Clause 3 classifies the tape three ways: by the grammage of the kraft paper before gluing, into 40 g/m2, 45 g/m2, 50 g/m2 and 70 g/m2; by colour, into two kinds coded A and B, of which the draft names only the second, coloured; and by tack, into low viscosity coded L, medium viscosity coded M and high viscosity coded H. Clause 3.2 builds the product designation from the code MP for the protective paper product, the kraft grammage code, the kraft paper colour code and the tack code.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 451.1, GB/T 455, GB/T 462 and GB/T 12914 on the size and skewness, tear, moisture and tensile strength of paper and board, GB/T 2792, GB/T 4851 and GB/T 4852 on the 180 degree peel strength, holding tack and initial tack of pressure sensitive adhesive tape, GB/T 7134 on industrial cast plexiglass sheet, GB/T 22865 on kraft paper and SN/T 2003.3-2006 on the X-ray fluorescence screening of lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium and bromine in electrical and electronic products.

It was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association and is administered by the national adhesive standardization technical committee (SAC/TC185).

The draft breaks off inside clause 3.2, so the requirement values, the test methods and the inspection rules are not shown. It was issued on 19 July 2013 and has applied since 1 December 2013.

3.1 Classification

Quantitative glue before pressing kraft paper is divided into. 40g/m2,45g/m2,50g/m2,70g/m2 four kinds;
