Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 29292-2012 "Limited substances in footwear, footwear and footwear components" and GB/T 29292- Compared with.2012, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The categories of restricted substances have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the.2012 edition);

b) Changed acrylonitrile, heavy metals, hexavalent chromium, rosin, dimethylformamide (DMFo), disperse dyes, formaldehyde, mercaptobenzothiazole, N-ethylaniline, nitrosamines, alkylphenols and alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ethers, organotin, o-phenylphenol, fungicide (TCMTB), polyol PAH, chlorinated phenols, pesticides, perfluorinated compounds, pH, phthalates, p-phenylenediamine (PPD), tert-butyl List of restricted substances for phenol formaldehyde (PTBF), chlorinated paraffins, thiamethoxam and thiocarbamates, chlorobenzene and chlorotoluene (see Chapter 5 of the.2012 edition, Chapter 3 of the.2012 edition);

c) Added lead, fungicides (OIT, PCMC), triclosan, benzene, bisphenol, N-methylpyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC), phenol, phenylmercury, quinoline, volatile organic compounds (VOC) limited substances list (see Chapter 5);

d) Deleted the list of extractable latex protein, chloroprene rubber or chloroprene (diene) rubber, and vinyl chloride monomer restricted substances (see.2012 3 of the.2011 edition). 1 Scope

GB/T 29292-2024 is the Chinese guide to managing and controlling the chemicals of concern in footwear and footwear components. China makes most of the world's shoes, and a shoe is a chemically complicated object: leather that has been tanned and dyed, textiles with finishes, rubber and polyurethane with plasticisers and blowing agents, adhesives with solvents, and metal fittings with coatings, each contributing a different restricted substance. The guide covers the identification of the key chemicals across those materials, restricted azo dyes and aromatic amines, formaldehyde, chromium VI, phthalates, organotin compounds, dimethyl fumarate, PFAS, heavy metals and residual solvents, the management system for controlling them through the supply chain, the requirements on suppliers and on incoming material, the sampling and testing strategy, the risk assessment and the corrective action, and the documentation and traceability that make a declaration defensible. The 2024 edition replaces GB/T 29292-2012. For a footwear brand, a factory or a compliance team sourcing from China, this is the framework the control is built on.
